Who is LeslieTalford MA CCC-SLP?

I have worked as a Speech Language Pathologist since 2000. I have worked with all age levels, but have a passion for helping preschool and elementary students. Most recently, I worked for a local elementary school. With the graduation of my youngest child, I decided to leave the school system and start my own business.

I have the most experience working with elementary-aged children. I love working in the field of articulation. Watching a child learn how to produce their sounds and say things clearly provides the greatest joy. I also love teaching children how to interact with others and play games. Giving students their voice and the power to show others what they know is what I achieve to accomplish with everyone I work with.

Recently I completed the Orton Gillingham Plus course to teach phonics to children. I see the struggle that many have with the basics of reading. This is a powerful skill that impacts so many aspects of our lives. I feel that this will be another avenue to help give children their voice and confidence to show the world what they can do.

My mission with this new venture is to provide my services to help give children the confidence and skills to communicate with everyone in their environment. I also want to empower children and their families to advocate for themselves. I work in Sykesville and the surrounding areas. Services may be provided in my home office, in child’s home, at the local library, or through tele-service.
